A concept album on domestic violence and the ways it transforms both the affected psyche as well as the perception of personal safety and the term 'home'.
All sounds used are recordings of everyday objects found in average homes. Every track symbolizes one room and is composed solely of sounds recorded in rooms of the respective kind in different apartments and houses.
The narrative is a purely acoustic one in order to avoid a blatant effect and allow for the listener's interpretation. There is no pretence of beauty, the album rather creates tension through harsh, unnerving sounds, monotony at times, confusion and destruction.
It's an attempt at raising awareness of an issue that's mostly neglected or downplayed, with people claiming women's shelters to be destroyers of marriages as well as physical and emotional abuse just being necessary means of putting women in their place.
